One of most recent projects involved the removal of the crown from a mature Oak tree at Abercraf, Powys.the tree was on top of a 40ft cliff and above a 6ft wier in the river Tawe. The tree was one sided due to close proximity to a OHL and heavy limbs had started to fracture, a neighbouring oak had all ready collapsed into the river so the work was carried out to ensure the safety of contractors working below.
After the tree was assessed for wildlife, it was decided the that a the OHL would be shutdown and the crown would be speed lined to the far embankment. Forces and loads on the speedline had to be minimised to prevent loading the root plate.

Our latest project was carried out within Machen, Caerphilly, the work involved roadside tree removal, Our target was to limit site impact on this mixed broadleaved woodland which is prime doormouse habitat. The selected trees had to be removed in sections using dismantling and lowering techniques this method would limt the area of impact and would not affect the local area BT cable. The trees were accessed using a MEWP, trees inaccessible by platform were climbed and dismantled. after liasing with the local authority it was agreed that the traffic would be controlled using Stop and Go traffic management.
